Millepas — Help

Questions or problems? Email euleraibot@gmail.com. You can write in any of the app's languages.

Why does the number move with every step?

Most step counters show what the phone has caught up on, which can be minutes behind. Millepas reads the iPhone's motion coprocessor, the same source the Health app uses for your iPhone's steps, and fills the few seconds between its updates with its own step detector. So the number ticks as you walk. The motion coprocessor stays in charge: when it reports, Millepas follows it, and the day's count never goes backwards.

How accurate is it? Do I have to carry my phone?

Your iPhone can only count the steps it is with you for. It counts well in a pocket, in your hand or in a bag you are carrying. It misses the steps you take while it lies on a desk or charges, which is why a phone usually counts less than a watch over a whole day.

The number doesn't move.

Millepas needs the Motion & Fitness permission. Open iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness, turn on Fitness Tracking, and turn on Millepas.

Why is my number different from the Health app?

The Health app updates later, and it also combines your iPhone and Apple Watch. Millepas shows your phone's live count, or Health's if Health has more (for example from a watch). By the end of the day the two are usually close.

How do I connect or change Apple Health access?

In Millepas, Settings → Apple Health → Connect Apple Health, then choose what to allow. To change it later, open the Health app, tap your picture, then Apps (under Privacy) → Millepas.

Millepas reads steps (to add Apple Watch steps and show history from before you installed it), body weight and height (for calories and stride), and saves the workouts you choose to save. It works without Health too; you just won't get watch steps or the older history. Your Health data stays on your iPhone. Details: Privacy Policy.

Why does the widget say "as of"?

iOS decides when widgets refresh, so a widget can be a few minutes behind. Instead of pretending to be live, it shows the time it was last updated. Opening Millepas refreshes it. For a count that stays live on the Lock Screen, start a Walk.

How does the Live Activity work during a Walk?

Tap Start a walk. Until you end it, your Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island show your steps live, with the walk's time. When you end the walk, you review it and can save it to Apple Health.

What does Plus do?

Plus reads photos of workout screens and handwritten logs into Apple Health workouts: a treadmill, bike, elliptical or rowing machine screen, a screenshot from another app, or a page of your training notes.

  1. Tap the camera button and take a photo, or choose one from your library.
  2. Millepas reads the numbers on your iPhone. If it isn't sure, the photo is read by our scan service with AI (see the Privacy Policy).
  3. Check the numbers, fix anything that's wrong, and save. Only the steps your phone missed are added, so nothing counts twice.

Free users can try a demo scan and save one real scan.

A scan read a number wrong.

Tap the number on the review screen to fix it before you save. You can also tap Read it again with AI. For the best results, take the photo straight on, fill the frame with the screen, and avoid glare.

How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open Millepas, tap the Plus card in Settings, and tap Restore.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Millepas and tap Cancel Subscription, or in Millepas tap the Plus card in Settings. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date (or before the free trial ends) to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription. For a refund, ask Apple: https://reportaproblem.apple.com

Where is my history kept? Will it move to a new phone?

On your iPhone. Turn on Settings → iCloud backup to keep your history and workouts in your own private iCloud: they then appear on a new iPhone signed in to the same account (settings stay on each phone). Setting up a new iPhone from a backup of the old one also brings them along. You can also export your steps and workouts: Settings → Export CSV.

How do I change the language?

Settings → Language. Millepas speaks 21 languages, and can follow your iPhone's language or use its own.
